Johanne Høgh er kunsthåndværker og arbejder ofte med afsæt i gamle tekstile teknikker. Særligt sprangteknikken spiller en central rolle i hendes tekstile værker.
Siden 2021 har Johanne arbejdet som tekstilhåndværker i Sagnlandet Lejre med plantefarvning og rekonstruktion af oldtidens tekstiler

About
Johanne Høgh is a textile artist and works with prehistoric textile techniques. The sprang technique in particular has a special place in her artworks.
Johanne has worked as a textiler crafter with reconstructions and natural dyes in Sagnlandet Lejre since 2021.

Sprang
Sprang er en tekstil teknik, som vi i Danmark kender helt tilbage fra Bronzealderen, hvor den primært blev brugt til fremstilling af hårnet.
Teknikken udføres oftest på en ramme, hvor trendtrådene (det lodrette trådsystem) spændes ud og flettes om hinanden. Da trådene er fastgjort i både top og bund, vil man arbejde simultant fra begge ender og afslutte arbejdet på midten.
Det sprangede tekstil er fleksibelt og kan være velegnet til net, hængekøjer og sjaler.

Sprang is textile technique, which have been used in Denmark since the Bronze Age, primarily for hairnets.
The technique is often performed on a frame with a vertical warp. The textile is constructed by twisting the warp threads around each other, simultaneously from top and bottom, resulting in a locked chain in the middle.
The finished textile is flexible and often used as sashes, hammocks or other types of nets.
